London Block Exchange is claimed to be the UK's first cryptocurrency exchange. Various cryptocurrencies (coins) can be traded and exchanged for Sterling and Euro. According to the site there will be a number popular coins such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Ripple.
Very little is known about the LBX platform right now as it is in the pre-launch stage. According to some light information on the website, there will be a mobile app allowing trading on the go, but we would also expect a web based platform to use on your home computer. While the service seems targeted to individuals, they also appear to have support for institutions, brokers and professional traders.
Reported to be launching at the end of Q1 2018, the site is currently taking pre-registrations. There also appears to be a queue in place for when the site goes live. Our experience with new FinTechs is that a queuing system is used to "onboard" users incrementally, instead of a large batch. If you are interested it would be worth getting on the list asap.
Warning - the value of cryptocurrencies can go down as well as up.
